couldn't think of any simple and interesting, so I just went with simple. Though it wasn't a simple setup. put the tripod on the table, moed the center pole so it was horizontal and hung clear thread attached to the pencil. luckily the thread didn't show on the photo.

It was a pain getting the lighting right. it was a pain getting the black cat out of the picture. it was a pain keeping the black cat off the table. And keeping the pencil hanging in the right spot during all of that.

But it got shot and got in. Terribly boring, but still an interesting experiment.
