This image has caused me to stop and pay attention. That means it is in my 7-10 voting band. (Voted earlier)

Additionally, it is highly interesting/eclectic meaning it keeps me here long enough to offer a longer comment and a vote of 8 or more.

This is one of my 10s - I like it very much. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:

1. The whole quirkiness of the portrait.
2. The unblock blacks.
3. The centred composition.
4. The intensity of gaze.

The impression I get is that he's posed against the brick wall, seemingly staring down the camera like it's the pistol loaded with a bullet about to administer his sentence for some crime punishable by execution.
It's also a nice juxtaposition of a character straight from a farm onto a location that must have been new and shiny in the industrial age, but could now be in any weathered downtown area, around the corner from a bar serving PBR and Fireball and a sushi restaurant.
If the intent was to leave the story up the viewer, you have succeeded greatly because I've been looking at this for a long time and it's still fascinating.
