The lighting on this didn't do you any favors, and the background doesn't help much. Usually shooting eggs in water or resting on some kind of textured surface would look better than a glass bowl, and plastic plants never look very good close up.
The shape and faint texture of eggs could be very good for a B&W food photo, but only when lit softly and evenly overall. |

| Seems to have been taken with the on-camera flash. Not that there's anything wrong with that :) |
