 These hills are known as Red Cuillin (or Red Hills), part of the Cuillin ridge on Skye. They are lower and more round-shaped than the rough rocky mountains of the Black Cuillin.

Funny thing is, I wanted to do an image of those Black Cuillin, with small lochans, heathland and rivers in front of it. But the light wasn't right and clouds started covering the peaks of the Black Cuillin. Therefore I decided to go to the Red Hills more to the east. I wasn't crazy about this spot, but it provided the best heather. I had to find a low POV to hide the (in summertime busy) road just behind the heather, losing the possibility to show a wide heathland. At the end it was the light and the sky that made me submit this image and, although not fully satisfied, I'm hoping for 6.1 or maybe a bit higher.

Beautiful scene. I'm not sure about the overall feel here - as something seems a bit 'flat', but I can't quite figure out what, or why. Easy 7 for me though.

wonderful landscape, nice dof with the flowers and mountains in focus, wish the flowers were sharper or maybe more discernible in this small 800 px images
