This is a scenic shot of Dubai--at night--at 800 rpm.
I've done some pretty dumb things with my camera lately, but I think this one takes the cake.
I strapped my camera with some heavy-duty zipties to the driver's side rear tire of my car and drove around with it. If you try this and your camera ends up in several tiny pieces on the road, I take no responsibility, so do this at your own risk if you want to try it :)
Here's a photo of my setup:
I tried my best to get it perfectly centered with the wheel, but it was off by about half an inch, so watching it oscillate in my sideview mirror was pretty terrifying once I got up to 60 mph.
All of these shots ended up looking like they came out of the last 20 minutes of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Lots of trippy photos that all looked like spirographs.
My camera made it home safely, and hopefully I've run out of places to strap my camera to my car :)
My math on the 800 rpm: I figured my tire was about 2 feet tall, giving it a circumference of roughly 6.3 feet, and at 60 mph you are going 88 ft/sec, so my tire was rotating about 14 times/sec (88/6.3). Multiply 14 x 60 sec, it's about 840 rpm...

your choice of equipment is rather unique for this type of photos !
a gopro may be sufficient
less dangerous in case it gets loose
