Yep. I'm going to agree with the prominence of the foreground rock as the detractor for me. I love the expressions, though and gave it a 6.

For what it's worth, my vote was a 7. I thought it to be a good image with good perspective and lighting. I can see what giantmike is referring to in terms of the composition. Maybe a tighter crop would've been better and it would've shown us more detail in the actual beavers.

I still really liked this image especially due to their facial expressions. Very cute.

I gave this a 6, which is often my "average" vote in a free study.

It didn't come out and grab me, I think due to the composition. That rock takes up about 40% of the photo, and the critters only about 20%. This gives the boring rock a lot of prominence. Maybe some tighter cropping would have helped.

I thought this was adorable, nice catch. However, the rock was almost more prominent than the animals to my eyes, that took a way a bit from the photo's impact IMHO. My eyes kept moving back to that darker rock. I scored this a 6 - it was a very good image, but just didn't have quite the power a few of the others did for me.
