Communicating through religion and persuading by force.

PostChallenge Note: I guess I failed to show people that the church was part of this photo (or they didn't make the association with religous communication.) I'll take complete blame for underestimating the importance of foreground subject and background.

Hmm... I find it amusing that I didn't recognize this shot since I was standing right there with you. I'll admit I had a hard time making the connection with communication. You've essentially got three subjects here, and the two in the foreground are stronger than the church. You might have had a better connection by shooting from below the cannon to separate the church and obscure the soldier.

FWIW, I gave this shot a 6.

The last draw communication, the done with words communication, the I can't live with you so I'll kill you communication. Or a Fourth of July fireworks launcher to celebrate the new year. communication none the less. Nice photo with the soldier in the back, the fall leaves in the trees, and a little glimpse of the wilted flowers at the very bottom.

THe statue behind the cannon is very distracting in silhouette form (an unneeded element!). Move a couple steps to your right and this shot would be the bomb! Any chance for a reshoot?

IMO...The opposite to communication and the tress are more interesting than the canyon

nice composition well executed, maybe a stretch for the challenge, but good job!

I love the field of depth, lighting and composition; though the challenge theme is not quite as apparent.

Im not really sure if this fits communication. If it did I should feel threatened or feel something of the force that this weapon would produce, but in its calm surroundings im not getting anything like that. But it is beautifully composed.
