 Ideas but not time. Kind of the way it is right now.

Luckily, one night as the house was in bed, I got a few minutes to play. I first brewed some coffee, trying to get some dripping into the cup. Boring.

Next I poured into a cup with a point of view from above. Better, not great.

Then I setup this scene. I took some shots wide a large depth of field. Nope. Make the depth of field smaller and focus on the cup. Blech, too overdone. Then I moved focus to the beans. Bingo!

A quick bit of editing including some Analog Efex Pro 2, and here we go. This is worthy of a 6 score, right?

I like your angle and your choice of shallow DOF to emphasize the beans. The table it's a nice, almost rustic, touch to the image as well.

I think the this would have been more effective if the cup was in focus and not the beans. But I love the composition!
