Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Hi Doug...
I think you did a great job with the setup on this shot. The spoon on the plate offers just the right amount of balance upset to make this image work very well. The blue background and the red tablecloth seem to compliment each other well in this shot :) It appears that this shot is lit more strongly from the right side of the frame. I believe that was a good choice :)
I can't really offer a lot of suggestions for improvement. The wrinkle in the background could possibly be vertical to improve it some, but other than that, I think you did a great job with this photo :)
Keep up the good work :)
John Setzler

Try more contrast between the subject and back drop. Yummy! |

the straigh on angle really makes subject look 2 dimentional and the folds in the curtain are kind of distracting |

Cute in a kitsch, 1950s kind of way. It's well shot. If I wasn't a vegan I might find it appetising, but unfortunately all that cholesterol-ridden goo makes me shudder :P. |

yummy! for more 3D accent, I would have put the cherry a bit towards the camera and with a steam attached. |

Might have liked a bit plainer background and tablecloth. The shot of the ice cream sundae is very good, though. Nice focus. |

Yummy take on the subject. Could be a little sharper. The nuts aren't crisply focused. I like the swirls on the whipped cream. |

Very clean and sharp pic.
Good depth, altough the background would be a lot better blurred. I like it how the read edge of the saucer and the tip of the spoon are in the field of focus.
Good colors and excellent lighting.
But the background seems so out of place, it doesn't relate to the icecream at all. |

I like the shot right upt to the point where we see the spoon, plate and birght table cloth ... too mnay contrasting colours. I still think it is nicely executed (very sharp, nice exposure). Jacko. |

Oh my! That looks yummy! The curtains put a slant in the image, which contradicts the symmetry of the ice cream. Did you try to take a shot after a spoonful was taken out... to show that someone tasted it? Just in idea. |

Like you creativity, composition, and light. I think if you'd of been higher then the table it would of helped. The background focus is too soft...and the top of the Sundae is a bit soft. Good luck. |

I find the background too busy which distracts from the subject. Otherwise great shot. |

The top piece looks like a piece of fake play food like my kids have that is actually frosting for a cupcake. I don't know if it is, but it's a dead ringer for it. I like the backdrop and lighting. I would've ditched the plate though. Nice job - Inpszil |
