 Pre-dawn photograph of the Cement Works in the Hope Valley, Peak District National Park. The valley is notorious for having early morning fog and the cement works sometimes manages to puncture the temperature inversion layer. Taken from the slopes of Mam Tor.

PS work:

Dodge and burn to highlight the fog, lower the tone of the sky and really bring out the lights of the factory. Also darken the hillsides a little.
Levels to take the whole level down to more closely feel like night (though the photo was taken pre-dawn).

USM to sharpen up the tree and factory edges

Channel mixer (monotone), greyscale, then duotone with black and blue to enhance the 'moonlight' effect.

Focus is sharp, yet the feel is smooth, soft, and dreamy. (Which is why the title fits very well)

I love the effect. This is one of only 3 photographs I gave a 10 for this challenge.
