Sometimes, it's just SO much fun being a photographer.
I was downtown, taking some photos for work, and remembered that the HS for Performing Arts was a few blocks away. I'd never seen it up close - only marveled at its insane tower structure looming over the freeway, across from the cathedral. So after getting my work shots, I headed over there.
The architecture is wild, and there is a cone-shaped structure which could easily have been designed by Disney Hall's Frank Geary. I walked around the fenced campus, and became fixated on the gargantuan circle windows. I started shooting this one and this young man rode by, then through my shot. He asked if he'd gotten in my shot. I asked him if he wanted to. Well, that was all it took for him to start doing all these tricks for me. A few jumps into our little session, he was joined by a friend, and together they did a couple of jumps for me. This is actually the very first jump he did for me.
Then another friend showed up and they started to one-up each other, and I followed them around the corner to the rest of their friends.
None of them were wearing helmets, and I felt very much like a mother hen, worrying about their safety. Especially as they started jumping off ledges and onto the inclined side of the building for me.
I gave them my business card so they could contact me for a copy of the images.
We'll see if they do.

WELL, THAT was a lovely comeback. Fell to 6.0 and spent the week at 6.1.
Thank you, Vlado. This might just be the best FS image I've submitted in a while :)
Incidentally, he did contact me and was very stoked with the shots

Did I tell you how much I love this? I'd love to see the insane tower looming over the freeway... go one? |

I LOVE this photo. This was my favourite photo of the challenge and I'm surprised it didn't finish top 10. Love colour and composition... and the timing of this capture is perfect. |

Lovely capture, seeing this for the first time, and apart from loving the shapes and clarity, it just makes me smile. |
