I had found this really unique bench at a state park. I took several dozen shots from different angles with this being the best shot of the bench. I tried but I can't see a way to make it pop and be less busy...at least not at the moment.

Not happy with my first attempt I went with my backup idea - the theater of the absurd. My husband and our friend Andy seen here as Mr. Light typically dress up for Halloween as a costumed concept at work. Last year my husband and Andy went as Eyeball Men - I bought the masks for $3.00 each at Target. So, Saturday morning 7 a.m., my patient and loving husband got up with me, got dressed and ready to go on location.

I had scouted 2 locations earlier in the week: one is a bus stop and the other is a fishing bench near a canal. The bus stop is on a fairly busy street which would have required me to stand in the median which is probably only 3 feet wide. The other bench location is off to the side of another busy road and was facing away from road. I did not know how how much space there would be for me to stand. As you can see, very little. The edge of the canal is lined with coral rocks. I went with this location after I discovered I could position my feet and knees in the crags of the rocks on the edge and take the shot. My knees and legs have finally forgave me later that night for treating them so badly on the morning photo shoot.

One thing, well actually several things, we found at the location were these giant snail shells all over the place. These are shells that are about 3 1/2 inches wide. All were empty but one had a dead snail inside.

This was also a contender.

Eye on the Game

My thanks to my husband for being my model and coming up with the great title to fit the scene:-)

I am too - considering that whimsy/humor photographed well tends to do really well. My guess is that a chunk found it more bizarre than a well done shot with humor.
