Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Hi Joshua...
I'm not really sure why this image didn't score better than it did. Technically, I don't see much wrong with it. I think there may be a couple areas where some improvement could be helpful though.
1 - This image could be slightly sharper to bring out some of the details in the scene. One pass with the photoshop sharpen filter could do the trick nicely on this one.
2 - The lighting is a little harsh. The detail in the trees coupled with the light/dark in the image could be making this image a little on the 'busy' side for the viewer. This particular scene could possibly be better photographed at a different time of day or when the sky is overcast. This would help remove some of the sharp lighting contrast and possily help your viewer focus more attention on the indian structures in your image :)
I really like the way the 'pathway' leads the viewer into this scene. When I shoot scenes like this, I always try to get low to the ground with the camera also. It makes that 'path' a much more dominant part of the image...
Keep up the good work :)

Nice shot. No sign around. I do not think teepees count no matter how cool they are. jgillard5 |

I don't like how the trees on the left obstruct our view of the (teepees?). I would expect some kind of sign in the shot. I like how the road seems to go in the distance. |

I don't realy see how it fits the challenge. Maybe if you had found a tree branch to act as a "sign" it might have worked better. It's a pity, because it's a nice picture. |

I can see the TeePee's on the left, but the road wants to keep leading me beyond into the . . .forest?? Nice color, greys, browns, greens. |

Very nice picture, well done. NIce focus, composition, color, technically a good photo. Only problem is your title is the only sign of a road sign. To me this doesn't even come close to meeting the challenge and that is a large part of the score. And that's a real shame because this is such a good photo and I really like it. But score wise I can't help you. a 5 is the best I can do. |

Liked the photograph, but where's the sign? |

no sign anywhere, and no the title does not count as a sign |

While I appreciate creativity, the challenge guidelines are there for a reason. It's a challenge to meet them sometimes, which puts everyone on the same playing field. |

Ummm....nice photo, but where's the sign? I'm sure you've already got a ton of comments asking that, but it's a very broad interpretation of the challenge. Perhaps you could have made a sign saying "Village next Left" and stuck it somewhere near the road, would've probably worked much better for this challenge topic. |

This is a very very beautiful photograph! I\'m trying to find the road sign... is it the structures on the left? Overall, I think this is such an interesting photo. the road leading into the darkness over toward the right of the photo is amazing! And its composition is superb. After a lot of thought I have decided that this photograph does in fact meet the challenge! It's so cleverly done :) I can't believe how I missed it the first two times I looked at it. Sometimes if I don't "get" a picture I have to look at it over and over. This is so well done, and the picture is superb! I give you a 10! -Annida |

Ok, I'm probably not the first but there is no sign to be seen. Although your title does make a good substitute road sign. Composition of your photo is good and the shadows in foreground and distance help bring the tents into attention. Unfortunately it struggles to meet the challenge. |

Neat picture, I really like the big tree in the center of the frame. I'm not seeing any kind of sign whatsoever, sorry (is it hiding?). The "village" doesn't look like any culture I'm familiar with (wood plank tee-pees?). Shooting from shadows into sunlight is very tough, but this is pretty good (compliment!). Sorry 5 Swash |

It's a nice photo all in all, but I don't feel it meets the challenge. I see no roadside. |
