My Life had stood - a Loaded Gun -
In Corners - till a Day
The Owner passed - identified -
And carried Me away -
And now We roam in Sovreign Woods -
And now We hunt the Doe -
And every time I speak for Him
The Mountains straight reply -
And do I smile, such cordial light
Opon the Valley glow -
It is as a Vesuvian face
Had let it’s pleasure through -
And when at Night - Our good Day done -
I guard My Master’s Head -
’Tis better than the Eider Duck’s
Deep Pillow - to have shared - |

my 2nd highest vote in the challenge with a 9
the title is an adage i have not heard in a long time and is a fresh take on shooting such a (pardon the obvious pun) powder keg of a subject.
i've upvoted imagery here that has gone against the standard of just taking pictures of firearms and have thrown a new perspective at people to see a different idea of "gun".
time's arrow points us ever forward, with no offramp to go back and see what was missed, and is met at the end with a sudden and inevitable stop. |
