I absolutely LOVE that expression. It is so resigned to being dowsed in milk that I don't look beyond his face - so I can't criticise your framing/colours/aperture etc because I never get that far into the photo. Totally brilliant! |

CRITIQUE CLUB CRITIQUE
by karmat
COMPOSITION
I think the vertical framing of this works very well. I like the different "bands" of color and texture from the top to bottom, and having the subject sitting in the lower part really anchors the scene.
TECHNIQUE
Great capture of the milk and the colors are astounding. Not knowing how many attempts you made at this, and because the subject looks really cold, having the thing on the upper right is a bit distracting. The shadows are also a bit much, but with my limited understanding of geography, you really don't have a lot of time to play with, do you?
OVERALL EFFECT
I chuckled when I saw this, and thought, "He strikes again!" I like the suggestion below of doing a whole series. You could throw a chicken and some eggs, a box of cereal and a bowl, etc. Once again, awesome work; I've enjoyed looking at it, adn this was the most difficult picture to critique, so take it for what it is worth. |

i am so disgusted with myself! i even went snooping around, comparing your 'got toast' shot with this one, trying to figure out if someone copied you (really well, i might add!)--and finally decided that it was probably a copy--not yours! sigh. i will never make it as a super sleuth! at any rate--gorgeous shot--love it as much as the first! :) |

nice shadows and lighting. The mountains in the background with the different blues of the sky really sets this photo off. Is that a glass of milk being spilled abaove the subjects head? Great Photograph |

hard to tell.. is that arnet or a lookalike? lol... neat idea, but we have seen this! time for something new :o) however, it is still a neat capture... that must have been a pain in the ass to get... how many times did you get milk on you? lol (8) |

Nice knock off. I really like his expression and the lighting on the model. The biggest problem is not being able to see the bottom of what appears to be a glass in the top right. |

Arnit... I was at first kind of annoyed at the idea of such a famous photo being retaken for another challenge. But, I just looked back at "Got Toast", and read all those comments (I wasn't here for that challenge), and I realised that having another chance to do this photo and have it taken for what it is, a great idea, without all the doubt about it being faked in photoshop, must be really satisfying for you! And this time, it shows even more flair. All that milk hanging in the air, with the snow on the ground and the beautiful clouds, makes this an amazing photo. So, I'm keeping an open mind and giving it 10 :). |

I get it - the milk is the clouds. neat way of looking at things. The white thing (I'm guessing a pipe or cup?) is very distracting. The boy's clothing is also blends too much into the background. I would insist he wore something lighter. |

Great shot, (again?) Where's the toast?! Colors, composition, and clarity excellent, as well as the humor. The clouds in teh background and snow on the ground repeat the colors of the milk. Great job, 10. |

Ripping off your own stuff, huh? Tsk, tsk, tsk. *grin* Nice spread on the milk and the color on the snow is a great complement to the color in the sky. Similar kinds of "nits" to my comment on the last one -- I just don't like where the lines in the background are cutting through your subject. The far mountains are a little too in line with his head and the open space behind him almost "cuts off his head." Silly little things. And since I'm not voting, take them for what they are -- comments of a deranged mind. |

Great shot, goes well with your toast photo. You should do an entire breakfast set like this, or start chucking live animals, livestock, or children dressed like farm animals. |

You've done it again. ........lol........ Don't you wear a coat ??? You live in the ice box of the world and no coat-sitting on the ground. ?Amazing?. Amazing shot too. What a capture. Did you get soaked? It's almost like the milk covered the mountians...neat. |

Well arnit, I'd say this was clever if not for the fact that you already did this shot with the toaster. Pity the glass is caught off frame. |

This looks like the flying toaster picture revisited. Great colors, like the other. I see its winter there too. Unfortunately I don't see this one being as successful - Inspzil |

Really good, love the addition of snow on the ground for extra whiteness.
A bit messier than a toaster, but less dangerous at least!
10! |
