Last day, less than 8 hours to go, and I'm at 7.13!! How exciting!!

I love the movement in this shot. It was taken down in Florida on my trip with my son ( jcar) and ja-9.

There were actually two herons on the beach. This was when the first heron took exception to the second one being around, and he started to run after him. I tried to get a good shot when he actually flew at him, but that didn't work out.

It's recorded at 226mm -- and definitely cropped in. It was handheld -- a little soft in places, so some extra sharpening applied.

The lens is extremely difficult to handhold at 600mm, but I'm getting a little more used to it, and I've had some successful handheld shots at that distance. I'm trying to use a tripod or a monopod with it, if possible.

Lovely work, crisp, perfect shutter speed and mid leap caught. A bit high on the exposure but that brought out the detail under the wings.
