First thought that came to mind: "nicely balanced". so you must have done something right. Hehe.
But it's true, the vertical lines seem to be floating about, instead of dead straight, because of the light and dark areas on the clock base, I imagine. For me, it just adds to it's charm.

This clock has a curiously stable presence in conjunction with the entirety of the composition. The eye keeps coming back to the unusual clock, stolid and self-assured. It resembles a flower or a gingerbread man. Decorous and good company (the image, that is). |
