 Not really a set up shot - I had a different pair of shoes sitting there, and liked the way the light was hitting them. Figured the boots had a niftier shadow, though. There are two sets of shadows because the closet door, to the right of this picture, is a mirror. Morning light coming through the blinds provides the stripes.

Dang! Blind squirrel/acorn theory!

And no, Steve, not AF issue. These are, believe it or not, wickedly expensive old lady boots, and very very comfortable.

too belated my comment... this is so well arranged/seen/captured/rendered that it is wonderful to gaze into it. and I don't smell the old lady boots at all, but if you like you can send them on to me.

For some reason I like this best. One wouldn't think that this subject matter would be appealing of its own accord, but the light and the composition make me want to linger. 10
