Imitation is he sincerest form of flattery. This is a knock off of a somewhat complex image by Karen Nfld who is 1000x the photographer I am. My 12 year old son liked this image and wanted us to try and recreate it together. We didn't exactly succeed but didn't exactly fail. Nonetheless we had fun together. I accept the criticisms I received for not being more original, but I enjoyed spending time on photography with my son as well. Thank you to those of you that enjoyed the shot.

I agree with damjanev, and I'm sure I'm not the only one (but some people don't want to get chastised for stating their opinion). If it was "Deja vu" or "In the spirit of" challenge then it would be a different story.
Congrats anyway! It is an excellent image.

Well done. congratulations on an excellent interpretation
and a fine image. And working out this variation with your kid
puts the frosting on the cake.

I recognize these stripes. They won the previous Stripes challenge.



The glass ball, the upside-down martini glass, the tilted angle and even the basic color. The only difference is that this one is blue-on-blue, and the previous one was blue-on-white with subtle difference in the lighting.

Don't get me wrong, the image is excellent and variations on a theme are OK as far as i'm concerned, but it's the same shot that won the previous challenge. Not very original :-(.
