Hi Parke
FIRST IMPRESSION:
Man, that's a really nice sky! :)
COMPOSITION:
I also think that cropping out the fence on the bottom would make for a nicer shot...but it doen't mean that it ruins the shot either. Great balance and positioning. oh...maybe cropping the photo slightly on the left would eliminate that 'half' pole on the fence :)
TECHNICAL:
Very interesting use of filter. The photo seems a bit 'soft' though for my taste, and would like to see things a bit sharper. Lighting is pretty good. :|
ARTISTIC:
I think the filter makes the shot. the sky stands out quite a bit and might distract from the rest of the image, including your main subject- the house. I wish you could have gottent closer to it. :|
OVERALL:
Very neat shot.

| Thanks for all the great comments! To answer many of you, this was taken using a tobacco gradient filter over the lense. I had to shoot this real fast, as I was on the side of a busy highway, with my son yelling "Hurry Daddy there is another car coming!" So, I could not take much time to compose it properly. I should have shot it without the fence, like many of you suggested. |

| Odd colour sky, but i think i like it. The fence is a bit distracting but that could be just me as i hate fences in the foreground. Overall nice. 8 :-) |

| Great photo - I love the colours and the feeling of openness. Your composition of the house on the left, the hill back right and the fence in the foreground is wonderful. Focus is brilliant and there is very little not to like about this photo. If anything, having the post on the left marginally cropped is annoying - but if that's my worst point you've done very well. |

| Try not to use the grads if you can help it, sometimes they can look a bit obvious. Better off waiting for the right type of sky. |

| Well taken photo. Love the color of the sky. Too bad about this fence in the way. You might have liked it better cropped right out of the picture. If it were a little more visually appealing it would fit nicely. - Inspzil |

| I like landscapes without seeing man made buildings , but this one is nice , the sky and the hills have a natural winter color foces is very good 7 |

| Did you realy need to use a filter to turn the sky that colour? I find it a bit extreme. I would like to see the picture without it, as I think the shape of the hill is interesting in a negative space kind of way. |

| Lovely - very different from a lot of what I've seen so far. The warm color of the sky grabs the viewer, and the composition pulls the eye in. That curve of the hillside really makes it stand out. |
