I used a handheld penlight to light the stein. I was really trying to get the three animals lit to stand out the most then brush the trees and surroundings with a little less light trying to leave the void dark to give it more depth. I also wanted to make sure the handle had just enough light so you'd know you were looking at a stein. I also tried to keep the angle of the light somewhat top-down so the relief would have some shadow depth and look almost like moonlight shining through the trees.

Lots of detail on that Stein, just the right amount of lighting
