Exceptional B&W in a strong composition.

The tonal quality is just perfect for the parts being depicted. The composition is nice. I appreciate the repitition of form. Sadly, while technically very well done, the subject lacks appeal for me. 6

Simple, yet still complex. I like the idea but would have liked deeper DOF. That aside feel you captured the challenge and bumped to 8

Focus looks a bit soft. I think. It's hard to tell, but it doesn't look as crisp and cold as i imagine the metal to be. nice image.

Fits the challenge perfectly. Hope you didn't take your gearbox appart to get this ;-) There seems to be a strange texture to the faces of the gear wheels etc. is that intentional? It looks ok makes it a bit different. The lighting is good, composition is good. In my opinion the overall greyness makes it seem a bit flat? Just the impression I get.

very nice. I like the deep DOF but the kinda spotlight on the first big wheel kinda confuses me and makes the teeth on that wheel look strange. same with the wheel far left, maybe you should have had a tighter crop. I have a feeling that long and narrow crop would suit this kind of machinery better than a rectangular one.

I think this photo would be great if it was sharp.
