 This is a risky image. I took the shot for this challenge but I know someone could consider it as DNMC. But most important is having a photo that I really like. It's my tribute to Caravaggio :)

Absurd

Of course mine was an exaggeration. Big plate for a single pea - in my view it symbolizes poverty. I assume it was not so easy a concept.

I was really happy to see this photo on the front page with the other feasts. I think it's an important contrast that needs to be represented. Too many forget that a big Thanksgiving feast doesn't come so easily to all. To the absurdity of the pea, I think it's perfect. Interestingly, I don't think the image would have worked as well with no pea on the plate. I also don't think showing someone eating a PB&J sandwich would have worked either.

Fantastic image. I'm glad you entered it, and especially glad it did so well as to be seen by all, every day, on the front page.

Nice light. The photograph is serious. The single pea on a big plate is kind of silly. Not sure the combination of the two worked for me.
