I like this capture - there is great detail and dof. how would have portrait landscape worked? and isolate the one bird? good capture.

Beautiful colors, good composition and lighting. I'm giving it a 9, but for it to have been a 10 for me, I would like to have seen one of two things:
A tighter crop on the front bird, making it all about him, or...
A composition fully including the birds at the top, so that they aren't "chopped off".

Very nice picture, the colors and the look of the water are great. It might have been nice if the background birds hadn't been chopped off, if more of them were showing. Of course, this might not have been possible so I hope it doesn't upset you that I said this.

The foreground bird is superb. The colors are great. I wish the top of the foreground bird's neck did not merge with the body behind.

The light and color is excellent. and your exposure is good. The details of the features are wonderful and the bird looks in focus and nicely sharp. The pose is fairly generic, which isnt a bad thing but with wildlife photography you're always trying to capture something just a little different. I'm also not sure about the cropped feet on the foreground bird and the head crop with the background birds. The colorful reflections fill up the negative space to the left of the bird but I still get a feeling that I would rather see him isolated, a closer shot, or with more of a crowd. It's still a good shot.
