I chose to shoot this decanter because I liked the way the long cuts long the base shifted the gradient of the background into a binary color shift of red/blue; then the cuts in front combine those 2 color spikes into a dozen stripes. Add in the cylinder of the barrel of the stopper and those stripes are converter into a swirl of lines that look like a curl of hair.
I tried to crop down to just those details, but the resulting image was just too busy. Still I like the idea, it reminds me of watching a cook make Chinese noodles, taking a lump of dough, stretching it and folding it back on itself over and over until by magic you have thin little noodles. This is the same magic done with glass and light.

Nice strong colours and I like the fact that there are no outside colours interfering as well as no external reflections interfering. For that I'll score this up one.

Similar to another entry. What that one has that this doesn't is more bold colors. I find the pink here a bit offputting. Deeper red would really help.
