 The resident Canada Goose at Sunset Pond and his white and tan ladies were sunning themselves in the late afternoon sun. Luckily I had my 100-400 lens with me so I could catch a shot as he used his beak to comb his feathers.

Post-processing: used Canon DPP to up the ISO about one stop. Used PS7 to adjust the contrast via curves, to clone out some tiny white spots on the goose's back and head and to sharpen the image.

This is pretty funny.... or maybe it's just me... but it looks like the bird is scratching it's head as if it's thinking, "Now where did I leave my wallet?"

8. This image and moment is fantastic. Almost looks like the bird is saluting you. Focus is on and so is exposure. Technically it doesn't get much better than this. I just wish there was a better background. The grey is so dull for such a dynamic subject. But ya can't do much 'bout the weather. :P
