Not easy to get! This guy is a geriatric pigmy hippoptamus who lives at the S.F. Zoo. He stays submerged a great deal of the time. When he does come up for air, his eyes were generally tightly closed. He blinked and I snapped.

Severe crop, minimal levels, shadows/highlights, USM.

Oh yes, used the 28-200 Tokina lens.

Wild, it's definitely part. Would I put it on my wall? Probably not, but I bet other people would!! I like it in many ways and it fits the challenge, is very clear and in focus. Good luck.

Considering how cranky these beasts are, this is a great close up. Could have been a slight bit sharper. I like.
