Absolutely gorgeous. Stunning. Beautiful! I'm not a landscape person, but this is so lovely! As to the novel, I don't know it, but from the wikipedia summary, it works for me. It seems more hopeful and beautiful than the dreary sanatorium, but it sounds like the mountains recur often, so I'll buy it. :)

Fantastic detail and a truly breathtaking capture.
on one hand i'm happy that i did not have to climb this high to get this image myself (terrified of heights), and that i'm able to see this view; on the other hand i'm terribly jealous that I cannot show this off to friends and family and say "look at this amazing image that I took".
definitely a favorite and a wishlist, this deserves to up on a wall (many walls, really).
a 10 from me.
i truly hope that this image was taken within the date range for the challenge as it would be an absolute shame if it wasn't |

What a zoomorphic mountain. Quite amazing. It's a St Bernard dog.
Greta shot. I might have preferred for this challenge a different type of image, but this is a good landscape

| At least this image comes close to a representing the location of the novel, in the mountains of Davos, Switzerland. It might be better to have related it to the story but we can't have everything. The image is otherworldly to most of us who can never experience first hand such a scene. The incredible beauty is very wall captured and would rate a 10 if quality were the only criteria. But as a visual representation inspired by the novel, not the title of the novel, it rates an 8. |

| Pretty spectacular! I really like he motion in the blowing snow and clouds, and deep contrast in the sky. Having only read the synopsis, the tie to the story is not great but it is there. 8 |

The book does take place in this setting, so it evokes that.

Lovely shot!
The title is fitting. The colors are wonderful. There is a "soft" quality to the snow, but still a sharper quality to the edgy mountains. Very well done.

| Magic shot, hard to beat this as a majestic scene, so I'm guessing top ten if not the winner. Fits your novel title well, no real negatives because it exudes overwhelming wonderment. If you post processed a lot well done, if straight from camera, even better. 7. |

This is gorgeous! Where the heck are you? Wonderful drama and processing.
Works well with the book, which not only takes PLACE in the Alps (Davos, if I recall correctly) but use the METAPHOR of mountains at several levels as it wends its elusive way towards a conclusion.

| 6...seems like an easy way out...more an easy representation of a title than a novel...a novel so full of other possible images than this. But this is lovely in it's own right. |
