The girls look like they are having so much fun. The little one in the front is almost to centered to me. Maybe if she was a little further down to the right. I bet this one might be cool with a little desaturation. This is a nice photo. Good luck. 5 |

very cute girls and good idea with the backlighting. IMO maybe better to zoom and crop on the foreground girl. Congratulations. |

i know this was not an easy shot to capture...i am always experiencing a contest of wills with my two favorite models. what i like here is the joy and innocence that you've captured. the lighting is tremendous (especially appreciate the lack of any flares). what could have made this better? the bench is a distraction. the only other suggestion is timing; if the girl in the back had been either to the left of the right, it would have given my eye more of a journey through the yard. all the same, i love what you've captured here. good luck! |

A very good action shot of children at play. But his photo lacks balance and symmetry. The bench does not have its equal on the right side. Same with the bush on the left although it at least has shadows on the right but not enough to balance out. I think it would have been better if those shadows on the right and the branches on the left were cropped out or at least arranged better. 6 |

Love the expession on her face. The girl in the back adds a lot of depth to this shot. I also like the lumenescent lighting, shadows on the right are a bit distracting. |

It has an impressionist look and fill of Degas paintings. I love it. I love the natural framing by the plants and shadows. I only wish the frame was complete (the lacking element in the lower left corner, or - the plants on the left could be cropped a litlle more (the make the left side visibly heavier than the right one). |

I bet they had so much fun running around in their pretty dresses! A wonderful , carefree, candid moment but the sun is very bright and the girl in the background actually ends up being more of a distraction to me than an addition to the shot. A 7 to start but going to an 8 for cute factor :) |

this is a good idea, but the whites seem a bit blown out, and the light seems pretty harsh. it also seems the position of the girls is kind of random.
good luck |

Strong points: You've captured a very special moment that will live oon forever. Lighting was a bit harsh - but you handled the backlight perfectly. I'm not sure how you git the light in the first girl's face - but kudos on a great job. The framing with the dark vegetation adds a nice feel to the image. |

This image has a mid summer's night dream feel. There is frolicking and a peek into innocence. I also look and see a few cyan colored artifacts the first right at the curl of the foreground foliage on the right. The image appears to have a lot of potential but as is it leaves the senses wanting. On charm and candidness bumping up to 6 |

Great childhood shot here, lots of fun showing through! Think the framing of the shot lets it down a little, not too sure about the trees on either side, maybe a tighter cropping? 7 |

ahahah, what a joyful photo! Love the softness of it, the skip-to-my-lou sweetness...very nice! Only suggestion would be to give the green a bit more oomph, it seems a bit washed out. Other than that, excellent! Thank you! |

The lighting, the composition, the pukey color green the shadows the bench placement, the girl in the back, the expression of the girl in front, the shape of the photo and the large dead area of grass on the bottom right all add up to make this shot truly unappealing. This is a higher standard, this is a "Masters' challenge." I wouldn't really want a print of this even if I liked little kid shots running around in formal dress. I'm sorry to be so critical, but I have to be honest. |

The bench and the dresses of the girls are perfect ingredients for a more romantic image, maybe portraying them as princesses. I am missing some interaction between the two girls in this image, does not convey anything to me. |

Good backlighting, interesting composition which is nicely framed by the foliage and shadow. The greens are a bit too yellow here for this shot to really 'wow' me, but it would be really hard in PS to liven up the colour of the grass. Lovely, emotive shot. 7 |

very nice photo :) i love the facial expressions and the soft tone to the photo though i believe that the shadows are too overpowering in this photo for the soft tones.... normally im one to keep shadows in but possibly IMHO it would improve the photo if the shadows were either toned done or removed all together ... its a gr8 photo overall and i love that soft toned effect, just as i said i believe the shadows are slightly on the too powerfull side for it |

An excellent shot, full of life and well taken and presented. Somehow, I think there might be better positioning of the back child for the composition, but with the strong contrast and both children in action, it still works very well as is. |

The focus on the girls seems a little soft, although that may have been on purpose. The bench is a little bit distracting, it pulls me away from the subject a bit. I do like the image, though. |

I am assuming that you used fill in flash to capture the details on her face, and yet it doesn't seem to be on the trees. Looks great though. I feel as if I am peering into a dream on childhood, a very emotive shot. Good job. |

This is a very nice candid shot, and the soft focus works very well. I do think it's a little bit too centered, and if youy took it a little bit sooner or later the girls would make a more interesting composition. I'm not keen on the bush on the left of the frame either. 7 |

Wonderful subjects, I can hear them as I look. I feel your picture could have been much stronger if they were off set from one another. Not so lined up vertically. To see both shadows completely would have been super for me. 6 |

I can see you have introduced some framing to the pic but not sure that it is enough or all-round. I understand the positioning of the foreground child because of the shadow but the one in the background (or the seat) doesn't help the balance. |

Soft focus gives this a sort of dreamlike feel, and the use of shadow on the right side of the shot helps to complete a frame with the treeline in the background and the branches to the left. The composition seems crowded, and slightly imbalanced with the bench where it is. Also, without a bottom edge to your natural framing, it seems somewhat topheavy. Croppign it tighter on the bottom might alleviate that, but you run the risk of getting to close to the girl's shadow. |

A couple of things I think you really did very well here is the exposure is excellent with the backlighting. Don't know if you used fill lighting or some kind of reflection, but the girl's faces are clearly visible and not dark at all. Secondly, I like the way the dark bushes frame the photo and give the scene a kind of private look so that the view here is almost as if we're spying on the girl's private moment of prancing and playing about. What makes this picture for me is the way the light shines through the dress of the girl nearest to the cam. The grass seems oddly too yellowish/green, but still not a big deal and like the effect of it's bright luminance. I think the scene lacks is some other main element, such as a fountain or gazebo to unite the girls in some kind of activity, because as it is now, they are to disconnected. 7 |

My son, when he was quite young, while watching his little sister and cousins playing turned to me and blew me away when he said, "Pretty girls on a sunny day dad. Nice huh?"
Your picture snapped me back to that moment. THIS is what he meant with that comment. You've captured the playful, magical energy of youth here...and..you dusted off an old memory...thanks. |

Love the dress, love the light. love the movement. But the trees closer than the girl on either side kinda makes it feel like you're hiding and watching her, which is kinda creepy.
I'm sure you're not, that's just how the pic made me feel. |
