This was a photo I had had in mind for a long time - well, since bringing the hat back from Australia earlier in the year - so I can have a new profile pic at Facebook or wherever.
If the self-portrait challenge had required a hat, I would have shot this earlier. As it is, it could also have been used for the Minimal Editing Challenge, but I decided to visit the old paved road on my way home, too.
I bought this hat in Cashel, Ireland, in 1984 after the approval of my Aunt who was travelling with us.
I needed to have my hair cut so that it would fit on my head better.
