Lol Johanna. Personally I think it's a painting, in frame with the artists signature at bottom right... :) Mariuca stood outside and photographed it there capturing the street people in the glass reflection. The immediate appeal and effect garnered a 7. |

Awarded for the August 2013 Free Study, for the reasons identified below.
This image has caused me to stop and pay attention. That means it is in my 7-10 voting band. (Voted earlier)
Additionally, it is highly interesting/eclectic meaning it keeps me here long enough to offer a longer comment and a vote of 8 or more.
This is one of my 10s - I like it very much. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:
1. It took me ages to work this image out - she looks so authentically placed.
2. The juxtaposition of each of the subjects - the gender of the main onlooker is so important to the power of the image.
3. The rich coloration of the nude image, the light on (of) the face.
4. The reflected line across the nudes eyes, reminiscent of early attempts to anonymise nude images in slightly racy publications.
5. The reflected tree, like a veil being dropped to shield her modesty.
6. The complete absence of you - the other viewers don't see you - transfixed by her bold beauty.
Overall. Magnificent. |

Now that's about the best semi-nude I've seen in a while. Quirky. Voyeuristic. Surprising. |
