Part of the drive mechanism for an old A.B. Dick 360 offset duplicator (press is too hifalutin' a name for this one), taken on the weekend when it was idle.

Resized, no cropping.

Exposure compensation -1. One tone curve (RGB); convert to grayscale with Channel Mixer, then Duotone using Black and PMS 143; three applications of USM at 66%/0.6 dia/TH=5/JPEG=6/10

Wow, that is complex, nice title too.

I almost prefer the original. The metallic blue gives something to the picture. Both shots are great though and definitely meet the challenge. Maybe a little more focus would have helped your score.

From the comments it seems I actually addressed the challenge topic in a straightforward way for a change.

Here's a link to a version (at pBase) in the original color; does anyone think it would have done better? I thought it was too dingy and grimy to score well, no matter how closely it met the topic.
