Challenge: Point of View Diptych (Advanced Editing VII*)

Traditional, non-overlapping. Which was not nearly as fun as an idea I had for making the flower shot the background and letting some of the flowers overlap the butterfly image. Oh, well.

I suspect combining a bug and a macro of the flower he's on isn't terribly original or creative, but it's what I thought of ;-)

Used my 28-300 for the butterfly and my 105 with extension tubes for the flower.

PP - converted from RAW, cropped, CEP (tonal contrast on flower and butterfly), levels, Viveza (correct light/shadow in a few places), shifted greens on the flower image to match the other image better, resized, Nik Sharpen, added borders, pasted images onto new black background, arranged, flattened.

9 from me. This was my equal top pick along with one other (Mariuca's).

I like the idea and the different sizes of the images. To me, the picture of the flower should be a macro shot since the butterfly is so close.

Order seems to be reversed, but otherwise this is pretty darn nice. (the first image is a little too contrasty though)

Very detailed, tight, and put together perfectly like a piece of Portmeirion.

What a gorgeous pair of photos! They make a beautiful diptych which meets the challenge well.
