In reality I'd say this is your floorboards, but in art, it is wonderful. A mesmerizing piece, can't say I didn't struggle with it at first, but it has the x factor gene in the chemical makeup, and as mere mortals we must succumb to it's hypnotic power.

The dark golden hues and large sweeping brushstrokes suggest a sunset. And sunsets are beautiful. Or are they? This one is left up to the viewer. Is this a warm beach, illuminated by the last rays of the setting sun? Or do we have the sun penetrating a charred post-apocalyptic wasteland? It depends on one's mood, I suppose. This would make a remarkable painting, but it's (presumably) not a painting at all. So what an eye and what an imagination the photographer who found and extracted this must have. And while I don't usually put a lot of stock into titles, this one intrigued me. |

We were mesmerized by the gleaming city as we were all sucked, streaming by in vacuum-tube capsule cars on our way from NY to LA. I pretended it was Dubai, but more likely it was just a sunglorified Oklahoma City. Its only true location is in this blur of moment.
Made my top 5. |

First struck by a terrific title, I had to step back from this one, take it in, observe it without focus, full of scratches the imperfections.
I feel the warmth, the imbalance, the depth and the darkness. Copper, wood, hair, the intent, the mild and semi-sweet victories. We are all fighting the long and inevitable defeat, sunset after sunset. |
