 Fine Art...a difficult theme to my personal point of view. Fine Art Photography can contain a large variety of styles and is mainly the creative vision of the person creating the image. Therefore difficult to please others.
I classify this type of photography under Fine Art, but will others be of my opinion? I don't know.

Initially I asked my daughter to pose. She agreed until suddenly "the boyfriend" expressed himself. He didn't like the idea that his girlfriend would pose naked and that such a photograph of her would wonder around here on DPC. "What if one of his friends would discover that!"
My daughter tried to explain the concept (not very much light, low-key, nothing to see,...) but it didn't help.
So I found myself alone and abandoned behind my camera with nothing but an empty space in front of me.
Thanks a lot, boyfriend.

I needed to review my options but I didn't want to try something different. This is a first time experience for me and I absolutely wanted to do this, the low key monochrome.
What other option did I have than to throw myself in front of the lens? The answer was "None".
And so it was done.
I didn't clean up the imperfections in my skin. They are reminders of 2 pregnancies and they are part of who I am.

How this will do? Not very well I think.
What counts for me is the new experience.

I gave this one a 6 when voting. Now I'm in front of it and I think my vote was too harsh. And not only for the wonderful story you told us. In life we need to be brave and that's what you did... congrats! :)

PS. and top 20 in a fine art challenge is a very good result - 3 positions before me :p

Beautifully done Nadine; love your notes, as I too have been in the same place and pushed myself to do this for the nude challenge. Still makes me nervous to know it is here for the world to see, but still a triumph for me as a woman. Glad that you followed your instinct.

I am drawn to the area of the hip, the stretchmarks bring a photographic realism to wonderfully composed line and tone.
