 My title would have been "Boom!" before the naming contest, but now it will be "Blast from the Past". Thanks, Mary Ann.

I took this at Fort Atkinson, Nebraska, on July 6th - they do living history days the first weekend of the month (May-Oct) - and July is always a big month with 4th of July celebrated as it would have been at the fort in 1820. The men leaning away from the canon are doing so to protect themselves from possible flying bits as well as the noise. They often plug their ears, but I have never seen anyone hold his nose :)
