Ok so I was cruising down the road enjoying the fresh outside air and this poor guy ended up landing in my van after hitting my mirror. I was doing macro shots the past couple of days for a entry and I decided he would be a great specimen. It wasnt until after Ive taken several shots that I would actually put a water drop on the back of his neck (even though it looks like its on his eye).

I placed it on a rose from my garden and then placed another a couple of inches behind to get the refraction in the drop.

This is shot with my 24-120 at 70mm with a 32mm extension tube. I am quite happy with the shot and very thrilled I got the rose in the drop as this was my first attempt at such a thing.

Ok its the first day in and with 25 votes Im sitting at 7.1, WOW. I know it wont stay there may end at 6.7 if Im lucky but Ill take it and hopefully a new PB!!

Thanks for the comments everyone. I know it was a little common of a shot but I never attempted one before and thought I would give it a go. Nadine unfortunately this poor guy was deceased after hitting my mirror and landing inside my van :(

this has a certain perversity... and yet it's crispy sharp, vibrant and clear, as if it weren't a wet dead bug. very amusing - congrats on the high score and top 5!
