Crop, calculation to b/w. In my obviously distorted view of things, this should score well. I am discouraged only by being constantly wrong about such things.

Sadly, I only voted 3/4ths of the FS this month and forgot to finish up, and I missed this little gem. Glad to see it got some recognition from Paul. Nice shot.

Awarded for the June 2013 Free Study, for the reasons identified below.

This image has caused me to stop and pay attention. That means it is in my 7-10 voting band. (Voted earlier)

Additionally, it is highly interesting/eclectic meaning it keeps me here long enough to offer a longer comment and a vote of 8 or more.

This is one of my 10s - I like it very much. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:

1. Stunning composition - reminds me of an image I saw a long time ago on 1x.com - I may try to find it for you later.

2. Great story and mystery here - the figure is an excellent inclusion. What's his story?

3. Fabulous exposure, I particularly like how the grass is put into silhouette.

4. Wonderful aspect ratio and framing.

Overall, a very enjoyable picture.
