 I could see the clouds building in the afternoon. I thought it may turn out to be a possible night for some lightning captures. I have been shooting lightning for about 3 years and have had some pretty good success. This night was like shooting fish in a barrel. At one point during the storm, I was getting lightning in every exposure. It was striking in all directions, I didn't know which way to point my camera! Then this massive cloud starts to move in and lightning is striking every 2 or 3 seconds. The storm moved over Denver and I knew I would have a good opportunity for some good shots because of the city lights and the clouds. I was pumped up with adrenalin! I could not believe how active this storm was. It did get to the point where I had to take cover in the house. Some strikes were getting too close. But by that time, I had plenty of captures and was very happy. Don't get greedy! Such a fun time shooting lightning.

Dennis, very nice shot, I thought the storm looked familiar I was shooting the same storm from a different angle, mine was taken from Parker but my timing was horrible, I would open the shutter for 30 seconds and as soon as it closed the best lightning would go off, happened over and over so I thought I would out smart it and wait about 10 seconds but when I did it flashed early. Love that dramatic cloud formation, the sweeping rain and the blue light/lightning in the center. Great elements come together for a great capture.
