Thank you for the comments and of course Don for another award. Love them.
Thanks Anita, and I have to come in here and explain. The picture was shot about 1200 km from Cape Town at the town of Ladybrand which is also close to the Lesotho border. These shanties shot up in post apartheid era by the Basotho's in search of a better life but soon found out that it is far worse in a squatter camp than in Lesotho. The Nationalist Government before 1994 applied strict influx control to prevent exactly what is happening today. Influx from bordering countries to main centres such as Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban causes major social problems. These people are mostly unemployed and as such very poor and often turn to crime to survive. Cape Town and the Western Cape had almost no black inhabitants pre 1994 but were transported to the region by the ANC government. They had to ensure that the WC became an ANC controlled province. These people were dumped without jobs, houses, electricity, sanitary services or transport. They built their corrugated houses which are often set alight by fallen candles, gas explosions or paraffin stoves. The system in South Africa for the past 20 years is a huge disaster by a government that falls from crisis to corruption. It is so sad because South Africa is beautiful and has so much potential.

I remember going to Capetown, and when we left the airport to drive to our hotel seeing rows and rows of shanty towns with those tin roofs, shocking stuff. Then out steps these people with the nicest clothing, they love bright colours good on them, I say, they need something nice.

Well depicted with the steam or smoke or whatever it is, and the 3 people add to this, my pick for 3rd.
