 Models: Adrian Bloom and Marbella.

I met Adrian years ago; he's a poet who also waits tables at a restaurant we used to frequent a lot. Ran into him recently and proposed we do a pet portrait. He was a bit concerned because Marbella (a boy!) was usually not very good with people, and tended to run and hide whenever anyone came to visit. Which would make for a very interesting non-pet portrait. So we set up a meet and greet, and Marbella came right up to me, let me pet him, had no trouble at all. Adrian was astonished. In fact, during the shoot a couple of days later, we had the opposite problem: he preferred to hang out with me and all my interesting toys than be anywhere in the frame.

As I had envisioned this image this closely framed (and because we were in a very tiny and cluttered space), I staged the set as such. So it took quite a bit of patience and cajoling to get him INTO the frame, and eventually to play with the feather - exactly the pose I had envisioned for this shot.

Drat. Was over 7 all week until shortly before rollover. Thanks for the votes and great comments. So glad these pals did well.

Lovely!!! This shot reminds me of a nursery rhyme "Pussycat... Pussycat, where have you been? I've been to london to visit the queen. Pussycat... Pussycat, what have you there? I frightened the little mouse under the chair.
Corny but it reminds me of that rhyme. You created a photographic view to the words. Good Luck & nice work!
