The choice of point-of-view is commendable. However because the focus is so off it doesn't work well. As you know there are many similar subjects in this challenge, I'm sure there will be plenty of "how they did its" after the challenge to learn from.

the lighting is not very interesting - there is a lack of visual depth

These are hard to capture. As you can see there are a few water drop shots in this contest. To have one stand out it has to be tack sharp and have some gimic to it. See the strawberry and cream shot to see what I mean. Good luck.

The idea was a good one, Composition seems like you are on the right track. It's a bit soft and a bit on the small side as well.

Is it waterdrops? Many of thous here now so it dont seem very original. This one also seems to be pretty badly performed (sorry but thats my honest opinion). Its unsharp and the tonal range isnt very good. Keep on experimenting.

Hard shots to get...

a little to dark...and not that sharp...a different perspective then the other water drops in this challenge....I dont think B&W works that well with this type of shot...a bigger pic would have been nice too

A little dark (or low on detail). That either has made it difficult for me to either has made it difficult to see the stopped motion, or it's just not there.

nothing clear in this photograph... no contrast at all.. well I know you tried to take the drop from above rather the usual side view, but this doesn't help the shot
