Composition - It is very difficult to tell what it is without the title. This pic is almost clear, but not quite and photos like this suffer on dpc. This is a strange perspective for this picture. It it were taken a little further back and included more of the croc's face it would've been better. Maybe a 3/4 view where we could see both eyes. The small size of the pic doesn't help nor does the large border. It makes the pic seem even smaller.
Photography - The picture is slightly out of focus. A major strike for this type of "macro". At the ISO it was shot, it is minimally grainy. It was a pretty long exposure too which is leading me to believe that is the reason for the focus problem.
Processing - Not much to speak of here
Overall - I can see both sides of the fence on this one now that I have some exif data to reference. On one hand, the general composition is not that bad. I would prefer to see it differently, but I see where you were going with this. On the other hand, the softer focus is hurting you. If this pic was not taken right under the beast's nose, the soft focus might not hurt so bad. A shallow DOF (like a macro) doesn't seem like it works real well with an alligator or croc taken from the front since his snout is so long. This has a lot of potential, but there are a few things that need honing to make this a really good pic. - Inspzil |

feel like i should give you extra points for getting that close to a gator to achieve your shot. |

The graininess of the photo suggests that perhaps digital zoom was used. Also, it took me a little while to fully understand the image (what was reflection, etc) - perhaps it is cropped to tightly. You chose a very complimentary green for the border but perhaps the black could have been a little smaller. |

After while crocadile. But it's not a very clear photo of the aligator. It's hard to recognize with the eye being about all there is. And the green is too much, making it disappear ino the out of focus part in the bottom left corner. Appears too grainy for me. Nice idea though. 4 PTL |

It's green. I can't make out anything but an eye. I'll take your word for it that it's a gator. wish it was more in focus, at least so the animal was recognizable. |

Neat shot! Is this a baby? Something about the back of his head bothers me, but I can't describe what. Neat reflections. Challenge met. 7 Swash |

it's difficult to tell what the subject is, it might be a little too close but it has great color and tonal range. |

It's cropped to closely. Hard to tell what it is. |

The framing on this is really annoying. |
