 This is a natural light self portrait I too in the side yard of my house. The light was very diffuse and I felt it would make a good location for a portrait. I do feel there needs to be a little fill ight in the face. It was a bright but overcast day and the direction of the light was coming from camera right. I processed the shot in LR, using basic raw conversion technique. I did some work on the eye area to increase the brightness and sharpness, but just with a brush in LR.

Hey, Critique Club here :)

First and foremost this is a great traditional portrait, nice lighting, nice blurred b/g and it fills the frame nicely. I am also a fan of the slight vignette. Also, it's nice and sharp.

The only change I would make is what you already noted, a white reflector to bounce some light into the face, especially the eyes, would have done wonders.

On a side note, I feel like your eyes are penetrating my soul.....
