Greetings from the Critique Club };-)
Initial thoughts
Very nice composition, meets the challenge, sun seems a bit bright
Composition/ Content
I like the composition. I think you placed the flyer at about the right spot in the photo. I know that some folks don't like the grass in the foreground. If you remove it, you can't really tell that the water IS water. The only other thing you might have tries was to crop above the mountains altogether and come down from the top as well. This would have made a panorama shot of just the sun, the flyer and the clouds. I think it would have been pretty neat.
Background
The clouds are awesome. It would have been nice to see them go all the way to the top.
Camera Work - Technical
This is a great shot for jumping out of a car with a moving target!! I'm not sure I would have shot like this into the sun but I think it works here.
Digital Processing - Technical
I agree that your colors could have been a bit more saturated. You would have had to tone down the sun a bit and brought the colors up. It's not bad but it would have been nice to see that blue water a little deeper.
Fits The Challenge
Definitely fits the challenge well.
My Opinion On The Photo
I originally scored this shot a five as did most of the voters. Looking at it closer, I think I should have bumped that up a bit. I think an increase in the color would have jumped out more at the voters and it may have finished even higher than it did. All in all a nice shot! Good job, and keep up the good work.
I would be happy to talk further about this shot if you would like to contact me.

Sun is a little bright, even when left intentionally bright. Good concept of a photo though. I'm not sure I like the land in the foreground. - Inspzil |

cool shot. i dunno if shoting directly to the sun is a goiod idea, though. but if you 're gonna do it that way try playing with the contrast in PS and adding more color to compasate the brightness and washout colors. good job. |

I really liked the dramatic sunshine of this photo but it distracts from the subject of this shot, the person who is supposed to be "free as a bird" I would also like to see a bit more vivid colors also, but stilla great looking shot wish I was there. 7.
Take my comments for what they are worth for I am just a novice with a new camera. Dodo |

The sun flare is perfect and you can still see detail in the clouds and water - great exposure. I like your composition as well. Did you use a star filter or were you just lucky with the flare (I'm 90% certain a filter was on the camera). Good work. |

This is a beautiful shot but the son is too bright in my eyes. I love the person parachuting and the way he shows up totally black. The sky is beautiful. Just wish the sun had been behind the cloud a little more. Other wise awesome shot. 7 PTL |
