Playa De Troncones gives one many opportunities for great pictures! I've captured some fantastic architecture and sunsets as well.

I made the following alterations in photoshop:
-exaggerated blue & purple in the shadows
-exaggerated yellow in the highlights. This was very useful in causing the wave to feel more three dimensional
-slightly exaggerated contrast and color saturation. The original image lacked the contrast I wanted.
-used the burn tool to exaggerate the foam's shadow as it spilled across the sand.
-dodged individual water droplets to make them sparkle.
-softened the sky to reduce picture noise.

I only wish DPC would allow us to upload higher resolution pictures. There is so much detail that has been lost in this low resolution version!

There is a light blur in this picture, I suspect that you might lose votes for that. This is a very pleasant photo non-the-less.

Beautiful shot. I would have tried for a tighter crop and perhaps taken the left 1/4 out. Nice lighting.

I did some shots like this once, but they were a little early for this challenge - over forty years ago on the west coast of France. Anyway, spectacular lighting, really great action, stopped it nicely. Wish there was a tad more focus in places; just seems kind of soft. Just the same, congratulations. Nice image.

Wow! This is a GORGEOUS stop action. It reminds me of an oil painting.

nice image but out of focus to be a contender

Great subject but it feels just a little soft especially around the rocks. It looks like this was shot pretty late or early in the day as the light has a color cast and seems to be coming from low on the horizon. I wonder what shutter speed and aperture you used on this shot.
Great choice of subjects. Wish I'd been there with you on this shoot.
