I like it - it almost looks like a very detailed pencil sketch.

I didn't vote, but had I I would have added to the 4 or 5 row of votes. To me it's processed too far. Takes a decent photo(your outtake) and makes it not as appealing. Just because the challenge is advanced doesn't mean you have to use all of the tools available. |

I think this is an outstanding shot Anita. I love the processing. |

I didn't vote. I would probably have given it a 5. It's a good family photo, competently processed, but as someone who doesn't know the kids, the subject and processing don't cause any kind of emotional response. I'm generally not a fan of that soft focus processing thing, and I think this might have done as well with a more straight ahead B&W conversion, more like HCB and less like Michael Orton. Without the soft focus, I probably would have given it a 6.
Overall, I think the average score is probably about where it should be. There are always absurdly low votes on every entry, no matter how good, and there are always absurdly high votes on every entry that cancel out the low ones. This shot probably doesn't deserve the 6 1's and 2's, but it doesn't really deserve the 5 9's and 10's either, so it all evens out. |

I love the processing. If I'd have voted, I'd have given it a 7 or 8.
I don't mind the title being in my face either. I think having titles should be optional.

I gave it a 6. I think this image received really generous votes. It's way overprocessed for me, but it's okay. You would have gotten a higher score from me if you hadn't tried to use the title to explain your entry to those of us who are too stupid to look at the image and figure it out. |

You probably didn't think it was overprocessed, as you tend to accept a very high level. Opposed to me (I wasn't one of your lowest votes, though). |

Too artistic for DPC, that's the problem |

85 voted 6+
48 voted 5 or less
And you got some very positive comments, all in all I think a good result for a not so formulaic (DPC) shot. |

I would give a 10 for this refreshing picture if it wasn't for the halos.
It's a delicate and completely adorable shot. As long as we can still find moments like these we can still have hopes for the world. |
