so whimsical & dark, it takes my breath away. Love the reflection/shadow. And that (recreational?) vehicle in the BG. At this angle, it feels like he's about to slide off the rooftop. |

Has that uneasy edge about it, I'm sure intentional, an everyday event for a child, but this particular angle you shot this at, marvels me. So glad you didn't stick to the norm, well done |

This is a new comment series for me, so please bear with me while I find my style!
(Voted earlier)
This is one of my 8s - I like it a good deal. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:
1. Despite the slight haloing - there is something compelling about this image. The POV and the dark rendition gives a slightly ominous feel. I like that.
2. Although the child is central, they are also somewhat peripheral to it too - those swirly logs and the brooding caravan draw the eye and get us to inspect your post-processing handiwork.
3. I really like all of the lines too - the edges of the logs, the slide, the telegraph pole and wires - they seem to break the image up like some mosaic.
4. The framing of the child through the hand rails is particularly effective and makes me think of a puzzle where this was the last piece to be dropped into place.
Overall, tons of mood here. I like that. |
