It's the texture and the shape of the tree that makes this image so interesting. |

Love how it looks like that branch to the right is ready to leap out of the frame. |

Beautiful tree, beautiful gradient sky. I am thinking about the wall at mid right, and whether it would have been possible to avoid including it in the photo by changing camera position. I also like the tree's shadow. |

I love these knobby trees and you found a beauty.
NitPic? That white fence/path/? to the right.
If it was mine, I'd probably clone some grass into that area. |

The tree seems to make a bowing gesture with grace. Well captured. |

LOL on the lens and a great old tree. At least I would guess it's old - looks almost as knotty and gnarled as I do! |

Laughing, gotta love getting a different lens than you thought you bought! Seems to have worked out nice for you though. |

LOL. I'm 5'3". That wasn't going to happen.
To give a sense of perspective with the ultrawide lens.....that branch was practically sitting on my right shoulder. |

Your focus is spot on despite the shallow f stop. The 20mm doesn't show as massive distortion on the FX Full Frame D800 as it might on a DX. What would a lower aimed higher POV do? |

Looks like a palm with the fingers reaching up to create a seat (or a trap) lovely angles. |

Hard not to be captivated by trees like this. The D800 gets all the details beautifully. What lens are you using?

That tree looks like it has grown with the one purpose of having a tree house built within it. The colours and textures are nice and you did well with the manual focus. |

I'd like to sit in that tree and read a good book! |
