Challenge: Mirrors (Advanced Editing II)
Camera: Fujifilm FinePix S7000
Location: Maryborough, Queensland, Australia
Date: Sep 12, 2004
Aperture: f3.6
ISO: 160
Shutter: 1/340
Galleries: Landscape, Nature
Date Uploaded: Sep 12, 2004

Background and mirror image are at about 110deg apart. Took a bit to line up and get it how I wanted but only took 5 shots to get it.

Worked in layers (2) cut out mirror and blured background.
Little level and colour sat. Cloned out small distracting palm leaf, clothes line and sprinkler.

Adjusted, levels, hue/sat and cropped un-sharpen mask then save 4 web.

Great idea and wonderful picture. I love the focus on the inside while bluring on the outside. Although you missed a few spots around the mirror ;-) 8

This is a good idea for the challenge and the photo came out nicely. I think the cloning at the bottom of the mirror is a bit distracting, so it might have looked better with whatever handle the mirror had in the first place. Still, this is a nice shot.

Nice job lining things up to get the compositional effect that you rtitle implies. The lighting is VERY harsh. You shot this during mid day didn't you? A different time of day would bring out the shadows and soften your highlights. The reflection is quite oversharpened.
